About Me – Simon Perry

I’ve been privileged to work in a consultancy capacity within several sectors of the health care industry for most of my professional life (about 29 years).

During this time, I’m proud to have received high commendation for training hospital nurses, care home managers and carers (through my company, Classic Homes (UK) Ltd) and more recently, retail managers and staff for mobility equipment.

My life philosophy is ‘if you are going to do something, do it to the very best of your ability’.

That usually requires regular training, gaining experience and then trying to be true to your values throughout your life whenever possible.

As a consumer of various goods and services, I enjoy and appreciate high standards, good value and ‘exceptional’ service from a provider – infact, I go out of my way to look for it. I suppose I enjoy the challenge and it gives me a smug feeling of satisfaction!

I believe, therefore, that other consumers will do the same, especially when there are so many like services in competition.

In my opinion, there is no better example to which this applies than the Care Industry.

People generally ‘care’ about their loved ones, and will happily take the necessary time to ensure they find the best solution to their welfare in later life, or whenever specialised care is required.

That means they are looking for (eg. a care home) and will be attracted to a caring service which immediately ‘stands out’ from the rest as being ‘exceptional’ and obviously in tune with what the family wants for their relative.

First impressions‘ are usually an instant one chance opportunity for a care manager to entice a new client or new member of staff. And yet, most care managers fall badly at this preliminary fence, failing to recognise the immense importance of this critical marketing tactic.

This is just one of the many topics I cover in depth in Module 1 of my ‘Preparing for Excellence’ e-course for care managers. A few simple changes can really have quite staggering results!

But how, as a consumer, do I stumble upon this ‘special’ care business in the first place?

Well, We’ll be covering just about every method a care manager can use right here in the coming weeks.

So watch this space carefully!

Best Regards
